Beauty Through My Lens

We purchased a camera from our friends after Christmas and I have had so much fun learning how to use it! Laci, whom we bought the camera from, encouraged me to learn in manual mode so I could really learn how to use the camera and get better pictures.  I have been amazed at how much I have enjoyed learning how to use the camera.  I was surprised at myself because typically I will get frustrated and/or discouraged if I can't figure something out in my first attempt.  Well, I've found this not to be so with photography.  I started reading the manual at first afraid I would break the camera if I messed around with it not knowing how to use it-- after a few days of attempting to read the manual I gave in and just started messing around with all the settings on the camera.  I definitely  have a lot to learn but have taught myself everything I have learned thus far and find relaxation and joy in learning.  Here's a glimpse into what I find beauty in...

Even beauty can come from crap...can you see it?

I learned everything I know about chrysanthemums from Ella Haver, I am so thankful for the time I had to garden with her (she is turning 100 this year)

Landscaping and a veggie-- SO neat!  This is swiss chard.

More chard.

African Violets always remind me of my Mom and Grandma-- simple beauty.

I love daffodils.

Seems like a fairy tale scene.
