Full Circle: Part 1

Christmas is almost upon us and another year has flown by.  When I was younger, the years seemed to crawl as we waited for California summer vacations, camping trips, and school breaks.  Now, it seems as soon as a new year begins, the year quickly comes to an end.  Building our life as a married couple brings many new adventures.  Jessica and I are coming up on our 5-year anniversary, and those of you that know us, know we have passed through many fun yet unexpected journeys along the way.  When trying to find addresses for Christmas cards this year, one of our friends made a remark that they were not sure where we even lived anymore lol.

This picture pretty much sums up the past year and a half of our lives.  In a car following the saying, "what is life but one big adventure".  In 2014, after a spell of almost a year of unemployment, Jessica was offered a job just outside of Charlotte, NC.  Ecstatically, with no idea of what to expect or what this adventure would bring, we packed everything we owned, and 2 weeks later we had moved to Cornelius, NC and Jessica started her new job.

Its an interesting feeling to have everything you own packed into the back of a moving truck heading to a new town.  Honestly, at that point in time we could not wait to leave Greenville! Jessica had been there for the past 10-years, and I had been there off and on since elementary school.  We could not comprehend why people were so excited to live in Greenville and were ready to live here the rest of their lives.  Jessica is from NJ and I from CA, so having lived and visited so many amazing places in our lifetimes, Greenville has some stiff competition in our eyes.

Packing our things and anticipating what was to come from this new opportunity was easy and exciting, but the one thing Greenville had given us we knew we would miss where the friends we had made.  The adage that, "you do not realize what you have until it is gone", really hit hard as we began saying goodbye to friends, with no reason in our minds to believe we would be back to Greenville anytime soon....
