The Power of Prayer

     God really has the most perfect timing and we were incredibly reminded of that tonight.  We've been praying and fasting over many things recently.  Tonight, I really didn't feel like doing anything but go to bed--  but, we decided to do a devotional together out of our Night Light devotional for couples by Dr. James and Shirely Dobson.  It was exactly what we needed to hear at exactly the perfect timing-- Thanks be to our God!  

James 5:16 "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."

 The devotion was about...

• the power of prayer
• the importance of praying together as a couple
• relying on God, not ourselves
• recognizing who needs prayer

...and most importantly never cease PRAYING!  Thank you Jesus for your most perfect timing and comfort.

Lord, thank You for the awesome power You make available to us through prayer.  May all our requests honor You and help release Your best in our relationship.  Tonight we pray specifically for Nana, for comfort and peace.  We wish so badly to be there and wrap our arms around her, wrap Your arms around her and love on her.  Help her to know that You are right there with her and want only the best for her.  We also pray for her salvation; we pray in confidence that she will be exposed to the gospel and without a doubt claim you as her Lord and Savior.  We also pray for clarity with so many decisions and ideas we've been tossing around.  We pray that Chris can be a supportive husband and I can be a supportive wife in these times of need.  We love you Lord.  Amen.
